Running for my life ...

After 27 years of running a mile here, 5 miles there, I decided to sign up for 13 miles. I can't believe it. I decided that I want to run a 1/2 marathon April and a fulll marathon in October.

What am I doing?

Well, I decided it was time to take on the challenge of my life. I want to run beyond the usual 2 - 3 miles. I want to run with a purpose. I want to run in my brother's name who committed suicide in 1994. I want to run for Jesus and feel some of the pain that He felt. I want to run for my children, for my husband ... I want to push my my physical body to exertion with this run and do it in the name of building a positive legacy!

Wanna join me a long this journal. I will use this blog site as an opportunity to log my training, my meals, my feelings and thoughts ... I'll share how I really feel.

Okay, today is February 1, 2008. I have a lot of training to do! I am pushing myself to be ready. If you have it in you, please encourage me from time-to-time.

Hope you don't mind my dropping by. I like your attitude and courage to take things head on. I struggle, especially this time of year with depression. It can keep me stuck. I am not over weight, but I do need to get into shape to feel better so I have been working out; making myself go on the treadmill at least every other day all winter, and now I am working on palates training as well. The spring time is right around the corner and I am hoping for a breakthrough in the clouds soon.
